DOT confident that Central Visayas will hit 3 million tourist-arrival goal

CEBU CITY—A senior Department of Tourism (DOT) official has expressed confidence that Region 7 (Central Visayas) will still hit the agency’s target of 3.033 million tourist arrivals for the region this year, despite the huge impact of the 7.2-magnitude earthquake and Supertyphoon Yolanda (international code name Haiyan) on the region in the fourth quarter, because of the local tourism sector’s strong performance in the first nine months of the year.
