HOLY WEEK [part 1]

The only Catholic country in Asia, the Philippines flourishes with Christian rituals and culture, not just in December during Christmas season, but also around March or April, a week before Easter Sunday. Known as Holy Week, this yearly Catholic tradition features practices that go from solemn to shocking. This video shows some of the rituals like “Visita Iglesia” where you get to see the fine architecture of different Philippine churches; and “senakulo” where devotees replicate the last sufferings of Jesus before he died. This includes crucifixion.
