The 1986 People Power Revolution commenced when Marcos' Defense Minister, Juan Ponce Enrile, and Armed Forces Vice-Chief, Fidel V. Ramos, withdrew their support from the government and called upon the President's resignation. Archbishop Jaime Cardinal Sin summoned thousands of Filipinos to march the street of EDSA through a message aired on Radio Veritas.
