ATI-ATIHAN FESTIVAL IN KALIBO (part 1)

Loud, colorful and, in many levels, stupefying. Kalibo, Aklan’s Ati-Atihan is one of the most anticipated, and sometimes most imitated, festivals in the country. Characterized by loud drums, ostentatious display of Ati costumes, and black soot, Ati-Atihan is the Aklanons’ way of paying tribute to the Sto. Niño. More than just a showcase of the vibrant festival, this video also tells us about the province’s equally colorful history.
