Loud, colorful and, in many levels, stupefying. Kalibo, Aklan’s Ati-Atihan is one of the most anticipated, and sometimes most imitated, festivals in the country. Characterized by loud drums, ostentatious display of Ati costumes, and black soot, Ati-Atihan is the Aklanons’ way of paying tribute to the Sto. Niño.
